A’Design Award-Winning Table: A Distinctive Icon of JotterGoods' Ethos
Inspired by the designer’s firsthand experience exploring a historic military hangar in Singapore, this table reflects both form and function. During military service, the designer encountered a vast, utilitarian space used to house military vehicles and aircraft. The hangar’s immense scale, with its sturdy pillars and endless trusses, evoked a sense of awe and humility. These structural elements became the foundation for translating the hangar’s architectural grandeur into the table’s design.
Like a hangar, a table is built to support weight, balancing strength and beauty. This natural connection guided the design process, resulting in a piece that is rugged, striking, and true to the JotterGoods brand.
Crafted by artisans skilled in woodwork, metalwork, and glasswork, the table exemplifies precision and quality. Ethically sourced materials, including certified sustainable woods, ensure that every piece adheres to JotterGoods' commitment to environmental responsibility. The table features three knock-down components: a robust steel chassis, four solid ash wood legs, and a glass top. The steel frame serves as the core, holding the structure together, while the wooden legs provide stability and strength. The base also includes custom-lathed brass washers and the brand’s signature burnmarked logo, adding a refined touch of craftsmanship.
